Puerto Portals hosts the sixth Dragon Class Mediterranean Cup, an event organised by the Club de Regatas Puerto Portals with the collaboration of the Spanish Dragon Association, the International Dragon Class and the Balearic Sailing Federation. Along with the first three prizes in the general classification, the Best Classic and Best Corinthian trophies will be awarded.
The Dragon is a sailing boat designed by Johan Anker in 1929. It was an Olympic class from 1948 to 1972. The class maintains some 1500 active boats from more than 26 countries, with Germany leading the way with the largest number of boats. This type of boat has a length of 9m. with a beam of 2m. and an approximate weight of 1700kg.
