On Saturday 13th September 2025, Puerto Portals hosted a new edition of the Blue Marina Clean-Up Subaquatic, a day where volunteers, divers and partner organisations came together with one shared goal: protecting and caring for our sea.

A tangible impact
The action took place both underwater and along the beach of Marineland, achieving remarkable results:
The removal of a 7-metre, 2,600 kg boat.
The collection of marine and beach waste, reaching a total of approximately 3,100 kilos.
This collective effort shows how collaboration between the community, businesses and organisations can create a direct and positive impact on the health of our marine ecosystems.

Key collaborators
The event would not have been possible without the support of Protemar, Big Blue Diving and Mar de Fondo, as well as all the volunteers who actively participated in this clean-up.
Their involvement strengthens a shared commitment to sustainability and the blue economy, two fundamental pillars of Puerto Portals’ Blue Marina movement.

More than a Clean-Up: raising awareness
Beyond its environmental impact, the Blue Marina Clean-Up Subaquatic is designed to raise awareness about the importance of marine conservation.
This initiative has also attracted coverage from local and national media, helping to spread the message further and encouraging more people to get involved in protecting the Mediterranean.
Blue Marina: an ongoing commitment
The Blue Marina Project is Puerto Portals’ long-term sustainability programme, integrating environmental actions, educational initiatives and innovative projects. From water and energy saving systems to the restoration of marine biodiversity through biomimetic structures, each action reinforces Puerto Portals’ role as a Mediterranean benchmark for sustainability.
The Blue Marina Clean-Up Subaquatic is proof that, when we work together, we can achieve great results in marine conservation. At Puerto Portals, we will continue to build on this commitment, protecting our environment and promoting a more sustainable future for the next generations.
Thank you to everyone who took part in this initiative.
