The fashion contest #mallorcadesignday was born with the aim of strengthening and raising awareness about the work of the new Balearic, National and International designers. The contest is aimed at people of any nationality who are studying or have concluded their Fashion Design studies. It is also open to people linked to the world of design and/or tailoring which don’t have a College Degree title or a consolidated brand name recognised in the fashion design world.

The presentation has also been attended by Nuria Hinojosa, Managing Director of IDI, who explained that “fashion is a strategic area for the island’s economy. An area which invoices 572 million euros every year in the archipelago and provides jobs for 1,500 employees. There are 119 fashion companies based in the islands”.
