Puerto Portals celebrates summer with the arrival of The Sunset Market, that will take place every Wednesday and Thursday from July 22nd to August 20th. The marina holds the sixth edition of this traditional summer season market, that returns with full energy to surround sunsets in a great atmosphere and the best music, from 18m to midnight.
A summer walk seasoned with the sea breeze and the swaying of boats. This edition’s novelty will be the stall locations, that will be divided into three areas in order to fulfill all safety measures and the required social distancing. The event will start on the main port’s deck and will end on the boulevard, the place where The Sunset Market is normally located.
More than twenty stalls offer Majorcan designed canvas espadrilles, artisan ceramics, Majorcan art, fashion garments, accessories, decoration items or costume jewellery; not to forget the live music shows that can be encountered when walking along the market, combining a variety of styles such as jazz, blues, rock, flamenco or swing, played by great bands like Honolili or Monkey Doo.
The artistic corner will be focused this year on the island of Majorca, with the aim of supporting always our local artists. Throughout this season we will see works in the most genuine Mediterranean and Majorcan styles, counting with artists from the different fine arts, who tell us a story by means of their work, reusing materials and transforming them into pieces of artwork.
The association Mallorca Sense Fam will be present once again this year with a fundraising purpose, in order to meet the needs of people who are at risk of social exclusion. Last year they achieved collecting 3,500 euros with a second-hand book stall.
The port offers a world of tastes among its succulent gastronomic range. Along the walk Mediterranean cuisine dishes can be savoured at the restaurants Baiben or Flanigan; delightful Italian food can be tasted at Ritzi, Lollo Rosso or La Concha, and Majorcan traditional cuisine can be enjoyed at S’Esponja Port, which will be present in the event.
