Children welcome!

From the beginning, Puerto Portals was designed to be a place that is open to families, where parents and children can come to spend some time together and enjoy the events, markets and activities that are held here throughout the whole year.

At the traditional Christmas Market storytelling and theatre sessions are organised, as well as dance activities, games and children’s film screenings as part of the Petit Cinema season. A few weeks before this, in the month of November, the European festivity of Sankt Martin takes place, a day when the port fills up with children bearing lanterns in search of Saint Martin on his horse. The families are invited to partake of chocolate con churros, and the children can participate in workshops to learn how to make biscuits, decorate themselves imaginatively with facepainting, have fun colouring in drawings of Saint Martin, or enjoying a delightful children’s theatrical story.

On Sundays in May, the marina holds its own Mallorcan products market, the Farmers’ Market, where children participate in thematic workshops such as plant a Wish, Natural fragrances or Meditation on the go, or they have fun with other children in the Fun Kids space, for kids over four years.

August is the time of the Sunset Market. This craft market also organises activities for children in a space dedicated exclusively to them, the Sunset Kids. It contains fun workshops and a carousel made of recycled objects by Lila Jocs Reciclats, as well as a caravan where they can find out how natural, organic sweets are made, which they can then try.

And in September, the SOS Animal Party is held, a solidarity festival in which children learn how to treat animals well, as well as becoming aware of the importance of adopting a dog or cat instead of buying one.

The Sailing School is another space dedicated mainly to children, who can sign up to sailing, kayaking or paddle surfing lessons, and practise a sport in the open air and make new friends.

As for the restaurants, most of them have special meals for children, so that they can enjoy in a pleasant lunch or dinner along with their parents.
